Olá!
One of my favorite words is salubrious. It’s fun to say, audibly interesting, and inspiring to live by. Salubrious by definition means favoring to the health of the body or mind.
I’m the founder of Crua Nutrition, LLC and a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN).
My aim is to help people achieve their nutrition goals in simple, joyful, and realistic ways, with health and wellbeing as natural outcomes. With a strong commitment to sustainability, I integrate it in my nutrition practices and advocate for a food system that is both sustainable and equitable, aiming to maximize benefits at the individual, communal, and environmental levels. I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to my community to achieve this. My professional background is entrenched in community nutrition and public health, allowing me to address a wide spectrum of needs across various life stages, chronic diseases, and health and wellness programming at both local and state levels. I am particularly passionate about perinatal nutrition- encompassing stages from preconception to lactation- to optimize nutrition for fertility, pregnancy, and overall health for mothers and their families.

The Intersection of Culture + Nutrition: My Drive to Become a Dietitian
I was born into a family that valued self-sufficiency and sustainability; this instilled in me a deep love and respect for the earth. Growing up, I spent countless hours under the supervision of my grandparents, carrying out tasks such as running food scraps to the compost, feeding a flock of chickens, washing and prepping harvested produce, and seasonal upkeep of garden beds. It was a life of simplicity and gratitude.
I came to recognize the multi-faceted value of my childhood household practices, including benefits to health, the environment, and overall well-being. My upbringing shaped who I am today, and I know that my grandparents' legacy of land stewardship will continue to inspire me for years to come.
As a Registered Dietitian for nearly a decade, I've worked with diverse communities and individuals. While working in varied community settings, I noticed gaps in our local food system. I saw firsthand how difficult it can be for individuals and families to access fresh, healthy food, particularly in low-income areas. I also saw how our food choices can impact the environment. These experiences led me to seek a career that could bridge sustainability and health. I wanted to apply my training and experiences to influence simple, attainable, and sustainable changes, all while staying true to my roots.
Today, I am more committed than ever to closing the gaps in our local food system. Whether it's through advocating for policy change, supporting local farmers, or educating individuals and families about the benefits of sustainable food practices, I know that I can make a difference. At the end of the day, my work is about creating a healthier, more sustainable future for all of us. It's about recognizing the interconnectedness of our choices and their impact on the world around us. And it's about staying true to the values that have guided me since childhood: respect for the earth and a commitment to sustainability.
